Join the ‘Barn Girls’ at their annual Hen Party! A day of fun knitting, gabbing and eating. (We promise there'll be chocolate!!!) Saturday, June 28, 2007 10:00 - 4:00 at the Bishop Claggett Retreat Center near Frederick, MD

Join Annie Kelley of Kiparoo Farm and Dalis Davidson of Dancing Leaf Farm for a one-day, fun-day knitting workshop. We'll be knitting a darling bag, learning various ways to make handles, embellishments and edgings. Annie and Dalis will be sharing their daily experiences of living on a farm. Annie is a dairy woman, milking 60 Holsteins twice a day. She's also a shepherd, raising 130 ewes on her farm in Maryland. Both women are dye artisans, hand painting fiber in rich hues. Dalis has traveled to Scotland, England, New Zealand, Australia and Russia, visiting sheep farms, feeling fleeces and learning how others raise sheep in sometimes adverse conditions.

Cost: $85, includes lunch, pattern, instruction and a special treat.

Bring a variety of needle sizes, 10's to 13's and scissors. Yarn can be purchased on site.

Cancellation policy: You may cancel up to 1 month before event (with a $15 reserve fee, getting a refund of $70). After that, you may take a $70 credit at Annie or Dalis' shop.
